On the afternoon of January 11, our faculty held the conference about work summary in 2013 in the academic report hall. Over 200 people have participated in the conference, including the faculty leaders, retired senior comrades, members from other faculties, and representatives of the Democratic Party of the school. The conference was hosted by Rao Xiaohua, deputy secretary of the Party Committee.

During the meeting, on behalf of the school Party Committee and administration, the dean Hou Changlin expressed sincere gratitude and good wishes of the new year to faculty members on the positions of teaching, scientific research, management and service, and retired senior comrades who have made significant contribution to the reform and development of our faculty. He has also made a comprehensive conclusion to the last year鈥檚 work, saying 2013 is a year of "evaluation and construction" for our faculty, which is also a critical year for the full implementation of transformation through great efforts and problem solving. So it is with special significance in the process of school running. The remarkable achievements got by our faculty have been summarized by him from eight aspects: First, it has fully promoted the evaluation and construction work with the making of great progress; Second, the specialized structure of subjects have been increasingly optimized; Third, the teaching and scientific research work have got new breakthrough; Fourth, the awareness of serving the local economic and social development has been greatly enhanced; Fifth, the faculty building has been improved; Sixth, the cultural activity performance within the campus is prominent; Seventh, the construction of the new campus has been advanced and stabilized; Eighth, the opening degree of school running is obviously strengthened. Hou** has also made deployment for the work in 2014, saying that our faculty will focus on the target of "improving the level and achieving specialty" and determine the theme of the new year as "a year for overall improvement" by emphasizing the following items of work: First, strengthen the high-level subject and professional construction; Second, enhancing the high-level faculty team construction; Third, improving the scientific research work level in order to achieve the high-level scientific achievements; Forth, fully promoting the faculty transformation work; Fifth, focusing on the construction of study style, especially the mechanism building of students鈥
