On May 11, Huang Xudong, executive editor of Guizhou Social Sciences and researcher and Guizhou Academy of Social Sciences, visits Tongren University and gives a lecture titled "writing of academic papers and academic evaluation" upon invitation. The lecture is given at Class Room 206, Bosi Building, Chuandong Campus. President Hou Changlin and responsible persons of related department and second-level schools and departments are all present. The lecture is chaired by Zhang Xuefei, head of the Scientific Research Office.

At the lecture, Huang Xudong explains academic evaluation, journal development and paper writing. The academic evaluation is mainly based on academic achievements and academic honors. It is in essence the evaluation on the academic level of scientific researchers or scientific research institutes. The basic conditions of development of academic journals of humanities & social sciences in China can be summarized as follows: administerization of journal resource allocation, huge total number of journals, small per capital number of journals, many comprehensive journals, a few professional journals and low overall quality. Huang explains writing of academic journal papers to the audience using some real examples.
