Recently, the Awarding Meeting for S&T Progress of Tongren has been held at Huaguoshan Weijing International Hotel of Tongren. Related department and tens of enterprises have attended the meeting. Vice President Tian Yongguo of Tongren University and his companions have also attended the meeting. The Meeting is chaired by Mayor Xia Qingfeng.

At the meeting, a total of 11 second prizes for S&T progress, 11 third prizes for S&T progress, and 6 second prizes for dissemination of S&T achievements of the city level and 1 invention patent award of the provincial level of 2014 have been granted.Tongren University has won 3 awards: the Reaction Mechanism and Organization Control of Combustion of Reinforced Particle of Synthetic Composites, the Biological Study on and the Jinjiang River and the Sinipercine Fishes Resources of Tongren, and the Applied Study on Duchesnea Used in Lawn Planting and Treatment of Stony Desertification. These represent the breakthrough made by the University in materials, animals and plants.
