From July 18 to 22, the 5th National Water Conservancy Innovation Design Competition for College Students sponsored by China Association of Hydraulic Engineering Education, and the Teaching Guiding Committee for Water Conservancy Related Specialties in Colleges and Universities of the Ministry of Education, organized by Dalian University of Technology, is held at Liu Changchun Stadium of Dalian University of Technology. Three pieces of works by students majoring in the water conservancy and hydro-power of Tongren University have participated in the Competition and won two national second prizes and one winning prize (third prize).

It is reported that a total of 212 pieces of works from 84 colleges and universities, including Tsinghua University, Wuhan University, Henan University, China University of Geosciences and North China University of Water Resources and Electric Power, have participated in the Competition. Tongren University is the only participant from Guizhou. This is the first time that Tongren University has organized for water conservancy and hydro-power majors to participate in such a national high-end competition.
