Luo hongfang

Prof. Luo hongfang, female, Miao nationality, member of CPC, Ph.D, born in May, 1971. Member of the party committee，vice-president of Tongren University. She is in charge of the works of Continuing Education Department, Editorial Department, Library, and also has a close connection with the Education Science Department.

She studied in the predecessor of the present Tongren University—Tongren Normal College from 1989 to 1992, and was employed as a teacher by the college after graduation. In 2003, she went to the University of Southampton as a visiting scholar for 6 months by a government-sponsored project and obtained master’s degree in applied linguistics for language teaching. In 2011, she was conferred a doctor’s degree in English language research by Suranaree University of Technology, Thailand.

As an excellent teacher, Prof. Luo has served successively as a member of the Teaching Guidance Committee and a member of the Academic Committee, an academic backbone of the excellent young people and academic leaders. Her main teaching courses include Comprehensive English, Reading and Linguistics, etc.

Prof. Luo has successively held the posts of the Vice-director and the Secretary of the General Party Branch of Foreign Languages Department，the Director of the Students’ Affairs Office and the Director of Academic Affairs Office. Meanwhile, she has dedicated to scientific research and published over 20 scientific articles in journals above the provincial level, edited a textbook and authored a monograph independently—EFL Reading Strategies Used by Chinese University Students, and presided over 6 teaching reform or research projects.
