The Music Department of Tongren University was founded in September 2009, whose predecessor was Tongren Education College Music Section (founded in 1979), and it is the province's local ordinary colleges and universities, offering the earliest music professional department (section). It consists of the comprehensive department, the Communist Youth League., vocal music, piano, music theory and dance. Here is a music production laboratory. At present, there are 12 classes with more than 400 students majoring in music and dance professions. Of the 40 faculty members, 14 are party members, 38 full-time teachers. There are 2 professors, 6 associate professors, 19 lecturers, 15 assistants; of them 6 are Master's graduate students.

The Music Department cultivates batches of qualified music teachers in the primary school and the middle school for Tongren as well as the surrounding provinces and cities. At the same time, the teachers and students participated in more than 10 consecutive session Fanjing Mountain International Tourism Culture Festival of China, the fifth "Tourism Industry Development Conference" in Guizhou Province and the third session鈥檚 large opening ceremony of National Culture and Art Festival as well as CCTV's "Happy Chinese Line" and "Cheers for the Motherland" large-scale theatrical performances. The Music Department has made an important contribution to the local development of tourism culture and the construction of socialist spiritual civilization.
