The "5th Top ten Teaching Skills Competition", aiming to promote the teaching reform of Tongren University and improve the teaching practice ability of its students, is held on December 8th.

Much attention is paid to the competition. The leaders, president Wang Dazhong and vice president Tian Yongguo are the main members of organization committee. Top 30 students from eleven departments are strictly selected to take part in the competition.

All participants are divided into four groups: the liberal arts, the science, the physical culture and the junior college education. It is required that all participants should complete the teaching tasks in 25 minutes (including speaking lesson for 5 minutes, teaching for 20 minutes), and the teaching courseware should be presented through the multimedia. The evaluation to the result of the competition is made by some supervising commission experts and professors as well as deans of each department.

By means of this teaching skills competition, not only do the students develop their teaching practice ability, but also learn more teaching methods. Besides, it lays a solid foundation to their future teaching practice.
