Hou even personally attends some classes randomly. Yang Yan, secretary of the General CPC Branch of the Department of Foreign Languages and Literature and deputy director of the CPC Affairs Office, goes with President Hou.

Hou walks into a randomly picked classroom in Block A of Yiren Building to listen to the lecture delivered by Ms. He Ting, a teacher of the School of International Education on the past examination paper of the new Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi.

After that, Hou pays a visit to the departments and schools, and gets to know the classroom teaching condition at the beginning of the semester. In addition, He talks with the responsible persons of the schools and departments about application for master degree program, independent learning, talent cultivation and cultural construction.
