On the afternoon of March 10, the Academic Salon on Discipline Construction is held by the College of International Studies and Education in the Mingli Building Conference Room. Hou Changlin, president of Tongren University, Ye Dan, head of the Propaganda Department, Zhang Xuefei, director of the Office of Scientific Research, Gong Jing, dean of the Graduate School, Luo Jing, director of the Office of Development Planning, and Liang Zhenghai, secretary of General CPC Branch of the Academy of Chinese Classics, are invited as special guests to the Salon, which is also attended by Tian Xingbin, dean of the Academy of Chinese Classics, Yang Qin, the vice dean, and Li Qian and other teachers.

Tian Xingbin gives a brief introduction to the discipline construction efforts made by the College. Ye Dan, Zhang Xuefei, Gong Jing and Luo Jing have discussion about related affairs, and propose suggestions and opinions.

Hou Changlin speaks highly of the premonitory sense reflected by the Salon held by College, and encourages the schools to hold academic salons and learn from each other. Hou expresses his hope that the College of International Studies and Education will seize the opportunity to achieve a win-win result, and make breakthrough in discipline construction.

The academic salon themed discipline construction is of great significance for the College of International Studies and Education to keep pace with international trend, consolidate the discipline direction, and make clear the development goals.
